I’ve loved him as long as I can remember.

The gangly boy with big brown eyes and unruly hair who grew up into an intoxicating man. He wears scruff like he invented it and ambles with a swagger that makes panties drop.

Killian Shepard.

We grew up together. We played Ghost in the Graveyard. Had our own rock band. It didn’t matter that he was five years older than me. It didn’t matter that he looked at me as a kid sister even as I grew into a woman. It didn’t even matter when he left me behind to go to college and start his adult life.

He’d be back.

He was always meant to be mine.

He came back, all right. But instead of smelling of promises, he stunk of betrayal. And he destroyed me—us—the day he married my sister instead of me.

So I did the only thing a girl like me in my position could do.

I got my revenge.

I married his brother, Kael.

Now we’re one big happy fucking family.

Black Swan Affair by KL Kreig is LIVE!

“This book owned me as I turned page after page, wanting to both savor every beautifully written word and race to the end. Black Swan Affair is easily one of my top reads of the year.” – USA Today Bestselling Author, Meghan March

This was my first book by K.L. Kreig. I quickly read the blurb and just knew that I wanted to read it and let me tell you, it certainly won’t be my last book to read of hers. I can’t wait to check out what she’s already published and look forward that what she has in the future.

I want to start by saying that you should go into this without any specific idea of just how it might go. Of course the blurb indicates that there is a love triangle and there is. However, it’s not what you might think and I ask that if you are someone who avoids love triangles, push that anxiety to the side and jump in and give this book a go.

Maverick has loved Killian since they were little kids. She always believed that they would end up together but when Killian seems to take that love and shatter it by marrying her sister, she about broke. Desperate to seek revenge and secretly attempt to bring Killian back to her, she marries his brother, Kael. Now they are both married to other people, will they somehow figure out a way to end up together or are they destined to remain apart but pine after each other for eternity?

This doesn’t happen often but as I sit down and write this review and go back to look for things I highlighted, I found that I didn’t highlight a thing. Not because there wasn’t anything that caught my attention or hurt my heart or made me swoon. No. It’s because I devoured this book so fast that I didn’t even take time to mark it. For me, that’s a great compliment to the author. I was so anxious to find out what would happen that I couldn’t focus on anything else.

I will be interested to see how people like Maverick. There were times that I wanted to shake her and tell her to get over it but there were so many more times that I felt for her. I started to understand where she was coming from and why she doing the things that she did. Were they always right? No. But the one thing I can say for her is that she certainly does try to do the right thing.

There is so much more I want to say but there is no way I can do that without giving away any spoilers. So the last thing I’m going to leave with is that I have never been more confused on who to pull for (Killian or Kael) more in my life. There’s no way she can have both, right? Every time I think I have my final opinion, something happens and I’m teeter-tottering back to the other. I have never felt so conflicted and confused and I loved it! The angst, the emotions, the feels. It’s all there.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book and I think everyone should take a chance on it no matter what they might think it is about. Give it a go. I can guarantee you that it will make you feel. It will make your head and your heart hurt but ultimately it will heal you.

“OMG what did I just read? This book… WOW!! It’s been years since I read a book straight through. Yes, seven hours I was glued to the pages of this book. A yo-yo of emotions that left me breathless with every scene. Black Swan Affair is a must read!!” – NYT and USA Today Bestselling Author Nashoda Rose

“Black Swan Affair is intense, mesmerizing, a gripping page-turner that had me guessing until the very end! A top 2016 read!” – Anne Mercier, Bestselling Author

“Simply Amazing. KL had me from page one and I had to pry my fingers off my Kindle when it was over.” – Winter Travers, Amazon Bestselling Author of The Devil’s Knights Series and The Skid Row Kings Series

About K.L. Kreig

I’m just a regular ol’ Midwest girl who likes Game of Thrones and am obsessed with Modern Family and The Goldbergs. I run, I eat, I run, I eat. It’s a vicious cycle. I love carbs, but there’s love-hate relationship with my ass and thighs. Mostly hate. I like a good cocktail (oh hell…who am I kidding? I love any cocktail). I’m a huge creature of habit, but I’ll tell you I’m flexible. I read every single day and if I don’t get a chance…watch the hell out, I’m a raving bitch. My iPad and me: BFFs. I’m direct and I make no apologies for it. I swear too much. I love alternative music and in my next life I want to be a bad-ass female rocker. I hate, hate, hate spiders, telemarketers, liver, acne, winter and loose hairs that fall down my shirt (don’t ask, it’s a thing).
