My first thought when I saw that we were getting Fixed Forever was “Why mess what I feel like is complete?” Of course, that didn’t stop me my grabby hands from begging to get this book in them. Sure, I felt like Hudson and Alayna’s story was complete but that didn’t mean I was greedy and selfishly wanted more. So I admit I went into it a bit weary because of all that. Turns out, I didn’t need to be worried. The first part was a little slow for me but then we get the Hudson and Alayna that we feel in love with. Madly in love, slightly crazy and a lot of drama.
It was so great to be back into their world. Most everyone from this series has a cameo and what I really liked was seeing how evolved each and every one of them are since we last saw them.
And let’s be real. The chemistry between Hudson and Alayna is still smoking hot and I’m pretty sure I will remember the stairwell scene for a while. Whew! Sign me up for that. Hudson’s words and his passion just does something to me.
Overall, I’ve loved this series and I’m very glad we got more of it. I think Paige did a fantastic job bringing more to their story and making us realize we needed more of them. Pick this up today, you do not want to miss out on these two love birds!
If she’d needed a day or two in bed, upset and processing and obsessively looking through pictures of the event on social media, what would that have mattered?
I trusted her to come back to me when she was through her anxiety.
Maybe that was the key. Maybe she wasn’t punishing me —but rather, was testing me. Seeing if I was capable of actually letting her go to work and not interfering. Not showing up, cold and demanding, when she lost track of time.
Because in truth, I was the one who wasn’t strong enough.
For all that I blamed her for giving in to her overactive mind, I was the one who worried too much. Who was overprotective. Who couldn’t handle the thought of her suffering, even only slightly. She was the one who alerted me to possibilities, her mind skittering from one thing to the next even as she stayed my rock.
The truth was, without me, Alayna was still brilliant and clever and lovely and big-hearted and enough.
But without her, I was nothing.
