All hope was lost until Zoey Hennessy walked back into my world, shaking it up beyond repair when she uttered two simple words.

He’s alive.

She speaks of her brother, my Saint, the man who lost everything to set me free.

I believed he was dead. I saw it with my own two eyes. But when Zoey proves he’s alive and being held captive by a monster, I know what I have to do.

It’s time I saved him.

The plan is dangerous, and there are no guarantees I will survive. But if this nightmare has taught me one thing, it’s that I don’t cower in fear. I am a woman hell-bent on getting back the man she loves, and nothing, no one will stand in my way.

However, what I uncover can only be described as hell on earth. The darkness has finally won, and Saint is lost to me forever.

Or so I thought.

Aleksei Popov is anything but a hero, yet in this story—he’s mine. Everything I believed in is about to be turned upside down, and with freedom within my grasp, I wonder how far I will go, and who I will sacrifice in order to set myself free.

“This series grabbed me by the throat and didn’t let go until the end. It is everything dark, delicious and twisty. Monica James is in a league of her own.” L.J. Shen- USA Today Bestselling Author.

“Do you remember what you said? You said we’re one and the same. The pain is our heroin, reminding us that we’re human.”

Review:

The epic conclusion to this trilogy that has consumed my mind for the past few months. I’ll admit the first book started off a bit slow for me. It took me a minute to get into it, but once I did, well I was obsessed.

“You can’t do it because you don’t care? Is that why? I know how fucked up that is, but I know you need pain to survive.”

“I once did, but now”—I witness Saint dropping to his knees in front of me and lifting my downturned chin with a finger—“the only thing I need…is you.”

There was so much angst in this book, I was an addict getting my fix from every page. One of my favorite things about this trilogy was the way Monica handled the development of each character. She has an amazing talent at handling character development, it’s one of my favorite things about her writing. Not everyone can write that way, it’s a refreshing thing to witness.

“I recalled our meeting, not knowing how you would change my world forever. I remembered how you fought every chance you got, regardless of the consequences. And I realized I didn’t remember when I fell in love with you because I feel like I’ve loved you my whole life.”

Saint and Willow’s journey was something that inflicted so much emotion on me. I loved being that invested in their story. There was also several other characters that made their way into my heart, and I am anxiously awaiting more from them. (Hopefully!!)

“This is possession.
And obsession.
This is love.”

I was on the edge of my seat. I was almost late for work. I couldn’t put this book down. The end was near…But I didn’t want to go on. I had to go though because I needed answers, and I needed closure. It’s a real phenomenal thing that happens to a reader when you are dying for the ending, but you just ache to stop so your heart can heal. So your heart won’t break or feel all the things the author is doing to your mind, and your emotions. It’s intense, it’s adrenaline pumping, and it’s flat-out amazing. When you got it, you got it. Monica has it in spades, and this trilogy is an outstanding example of that talent.

“Ты мое сердце. Моя жизнь. Я обещаю защищать тебя до конца моей жизни. Когда-то ты былa моя пленница, но теперь я твой. Я люблю тебя.”

These books will tear you up, spit you out, and make you question everything. You’ll love her and curse her in the same breath. You will enjoy every second of it too. One of the best set of books I have read all year.

“I love you for the man that you are. Not the man you think you should be.”
