Once upon a time, there was a girl who stopped believing in fairy tales after her innocence was stolen.
Morgan Myers is tired. So damn tired. Most people either push her around or brush her off, and she's not putting up with it anymore. Determined to reclaim the life that had been stolen from her, she puts her trust in the last person she ever expected to: the notorious they call Scar. Morgan sees a side of him that few people seem to know—the man, not the myth. Lorenzo. And what she sees, she likes, a lot more than she thought she would.
But fairy tales aren't real, as life likes to remind her. Some dragons, you just can't slay, no matter how hard you fight them. And when hers comes back around, breathing fire, she's forced to face some unimaginable horrors. But there's a white knight in combat boots out there that isn't afraid of monsters.
You see, it's impossible to be afraid of something you see every day in the mirror.

“But this isn’t some chick flick rom-com. John Hughes isn’t directing. My brother’s not fucking his girlfriend on my couch while watching this on my television. That’s not how this works.”

How does she do that? How does she make we question who I thought I loved the most from her. I mean Naz is life but man Lorenzo sure did give him a run for his money. Yes, I love Corrando but he is in a class of his own.

“He’s right, I guess. Maybe we’re all crazy. Maybe the trick in life is just to find someone whose crazy plays well with your own.”

If you read the last Naz book and you think you got a good idea on what kinda man Lorenzo is. You might be rethinking that after reading these books. I think Morgan was right when she said that people only see the scar and the act he puts on in front of everyone. No one actually LOOKS at him like she does and sees all the layers he has. (paraphrasing there) He is so much more and omg I loved every minute I spent reading about him. He is my favorite kinda book boyfriend, he is the anti hero. Even though he doesn’t want to be the hero, he is that and so much more. Lorenzo has that way about him where he will never tell you exactly how he feels but you will know where you stand by how he treats you and what he does for you. Some men show it with actions and not words. His actions towards her were EVERYTHING.

The ending to this was so so good!!! The ride to get there was perfection. I just loved how this book was narrated. It was different and refreshing and I can’t recommend these enough. They are not to be missed. Best books of the year and it’s only February LOL!

“Whatever this is I’m feeling, I want it to stop. I want it to go away. I want to stop fucking seeing her every time I blink. I want to stop fucking thinking about her every time I pause to take a deep breath. She’s like an infection that’s settling in to my chest. I would rip out my own organs if I thought it might purge her from my system.”
