Cowritten by USA Today best-selling author Tara Sivec and award-winning narrator Andi Arndt, a hysterically funny, heartfelt romance about starting over and taking chances.
Nothing good ever comes from drinking a box of wine alone. So when I decided to entertain my drunken self by setting up some hand-me-down podcasting equipment and reading the steamy parts from romance novels, I never thought anyone would actually listen. The fact that I admitted my huge crush on my sexy next door neighbor made the whole thing even more mortifying. But sometimes life surprises you, and that’s how my podcast, Heidi’s Discount Erotica, was born.
Now I, Heidi Larsen, a sweet former kindergarten teacher in Waconia, Minnesota, lead a scandalous double life reading erotic novels to the listening world. And with each episode, I find myself embracing my new alter ego more and more. Now I’m starting to feel more comfortable in my own skin and do things I never would have dreamed of - like kissing my neighbor.
Look out, Waconia, because Heidi’s on the loose! She’s in your ears, in your hearts, and down your pants...wait, that didn’t sound as good as it did in my head. Well, you get the picture, don’tcha know!
“Brent Miller, for the last time, it’s pop! It’s only called soda if you live in the 1950s, and you’re at the malt shop, drinking from a soda fountain. Do you really want to start our first fight all over again, when we were just about to have our first make-up.”
“You drunk-texted him. Big Deal? I once sent my father-in-law a picture of my boobs on accident because his name is right under Jameson’s name in my phone.”
“Oh, my. What did you do?”
“I didn’t speak to him for six months because I was mortified, are you kidding me? My father-in-law saw my books, Heidi. There is no coming back from that.”
I just adore Tara’s books and her writing. I own everyone of her books in Kindle, Paperback, and Audio. Her audiobooks are some of my favorite to date, and I have listened to them several times. Her writing with Andi was seamless. Their “voices” blended together so perfectly. Andi’s debut book is a hit for me. I look forward to following her both in audio and writing.
This hilarious story of Heidi Larson, a teacher turned podcast host, was full of all the feels. It’s laugh out loud funny, and full of so many situations that left you in tears from beginning to end. I loved following Heidi from her shy self to blossoming into a confident woman.
This has to be one of my favorite audiobooks to date. Do yourself a favor and listen to this one now. You won’t be disappointed!
