My name is Dove Hendry. Mine is Kingston Axton. I was captured by darkness. She has always been ours… They groomed me for Midnight Mayhem. Like a trained possession, weak against their control. She has been conditioned with our blood for years. She just doesn’t know it yet... But Midnight Mayhem was the stained glass that concealed a very dark culture. A culture that she is about to become the center of. The Brothers of Kiznitch come in fours, and they’re not happy about me being hustled into their acts. Or are we? Careful, Little Bird. A warning is a warning for a reason… Mind-tricks. Stunts. Deceit. Power. But there’s something uglier that has been haunting me for years upon years. So ugly that I have never seen its face. I never had to. I’d hear his whispers through my internal screams, feel his shadow brush against my nightmares. He was my the monster that tormented me. And maybe lived under your bed… When I started Midnight Mayhem, his presence faded. His whispers were silenced. His shadow dissolving without a trace. I wondered why that was. She didn’t have to wonder for long…

“Welcome to Midnight Mayhem. We are not a circus, we are not a carnival, and the only thing that you should be afraid of losing tonight, is your sanity…”

What I love about Amo’s writing is that she delivers dark romance to the degree that makes my heart happy. Not everyone can do dark romance, but she can, and she is spectacular at it.

“Sometimes it doesn’t matter if you know you love someone, or they know you love them. Sometimes, you still have to fight for it, for them. For us. Marriages fail because so many give up without going through the hurdles. Love is a battlefield, and my knight is a villian.”

We get a glimpse of this world in the book Manik, and I was hooked then. That book is full of win, so if you haven’t read it – do it! Those characters do make a small appearance in this one. I loved getting that treat.

I do think that these two characters, Dove & Kingston, have explosive chemistry together. The plot was solid, the flow of the story was on point, everything was just a win here. The only reason I took a bit off was because I think this needed more angst. Some of the “issues”, or the build up to certain events, the resolution was just to neat. I really wanted there to be more angst to it. I could of been tortured a bit more, and it would have been fine for me. Amo, you could punch us a in the face with the story, and I think we would love you just the same.

Over all this story was a complete win. Despite my one tiny issue here, I really loved this book. I am so hooked on this series. I can not wait to see where she takes it from here.

“I’ve lost my life to four men and they haven’t even killed me yet.”

About Amo Jones

Amo is a full-time writer from New Zealand who loves long romantic walks to the wine cellar.

She loves to write like how she lives, hanging on the edge of insanity with a wine glass in one hand and her morals-or lack thereof- in the other.

Those are not my monkeys, I swear….
Oh those hellhounds? Yeah, those are mine.
