Sexy computer hacker, Mia, struggles to break free of her ruthless father’s Mafia ties…but she can’t resist the powerful and seductive Nico, who will stop at nothing to possess her. With their families locked in a brutal war for control of the city, Mia and Nico enter into a forbidden game. Will they surrender to the passion that burns between them—and risk tearing apart their families? Or will Nico be forced to betray the only woman who sets his blood on fire?

Nico is the first book in a full-length, standalone series by New York Times bestselling author, Sarah Castille, set in Las Vegas and featuring deliciously sexy mafia bosses and the women who can’t help but love them.

This is my first Sarah Castille book and I’m happy that I read it. I’m a sucker for mafia romances so I immediately signed up for this book the second that I read the blurb. This book is a mix of a mafia romance sprinkled with a bit of Romeo and Juliet. So I guess this is kind of the Leo Dicaprio version, right?

Nico Tasconi has grown up in the mafia world. His father was a capo but was murdered by a rival mafia. Since that day, Nico has done nothing but seek revenge for his father’s death.

When the beautiful and a bit unorthodox Mia Cordano enters into Nico’s casino and attempts to hack his stems, he’s captivated. There is just something about this woman that gets under his skin and leaves him wanting more. Unfortunately, she just happens to be the daughter of the capo of the family that Nico is trying to go after in his quest for revenge. She’s the one thing in his life that is forbidden. He tries to stay away but his cousin is fighting him to be the next capo and she is directly put into the crossfire. Eventually he become consumes and will do everything he can to catch the fiery woman how breaches security systems for a living.

Here’s what I liked most about this book. The relationship build between Mia and Nico was the the right pace. There was a bit of a slow burn. They both try to fight each other but at the same time you can tell that there attraction to each other is too powerful for them to fight.

I also liked the progression of Mia. She’s so strong and undefended when we meet her and then we learn about her relationship with her father and I can say that first I was confused. How could she be so confident and strong yet be in the situation that she was. Then we learn more about her and her history and she just how strong of a fighter she is. She’s also extremely loyal to those that she loves and would do anything to protect them. Her relationship with her sister Kat, proves that.

Overall, I enjoyed this book. If you are looking for the perfect balance of danger, strong hero/heroine and the thrill of the chase, this this is the book for you!
