Katie Lovely signs up her class for a project, writing letters to Marines serving overseas, but a calculation error means she has to participate along with the class.
She isn’t prepared for what happens after she gets the first letter.
Sergeant Major Mark Gunner is serving his last tour and looking forward to getting out of the Marines. When he gets a letter that captures his heart, everything suddenly changes.
Their worlds connect and letters flow, creating a love unlike any other.
But when their time is up and the letters stop, will his claim remain?
Warning: This is a super quick, sweet, and dirty read with a small Valentine twist. *whispers* Don’t worry, it’s a happily ever after!
First of all, let’s talk about this cover! I’m so in love with it! Like seriously obsessed and might have overshared. Never mind, you can’t overshare something that beautiful!
I’m a huge fan of Alexa Riley’s books. As I’ve stated before, I know exactly what I’m getting into. Insta-love and some dirty scenes. However this book was a little different for me.
Katie Lovely signs up her high school class to become pen-pals with Marines serving overseas. What she thought would be a letter here or there to help a solider out while away from friends and family, ending up being a journey of finding true friendship and love.
Sergeant Mark Gunner has been dedicated to the Marines since he was eligible to enlist. He’s respected among his troops and gives everything that he has to him. When Katie’s letters start to arrive, he starts to discover more than just his dedication to his country and those who serve with him.
This is just a personal preference. I’m not an insta-love person. With that being said, I know I’m getting that with Alexa Riley’s books. What counter balances that for me is the dirty scenes. The alpha males that just make you want to give in. Those times where you skin flushes and other things happen 🙂 I felt this was tamer than normal and was missing for me in this book.
No matter what, I will always pick up the next book from these ladies!
