Some men are born responsible, some men have responsibility thrust upon them. Henry John Edgar Thomas Pembrook, Prince of Wessco, just got the motherlode of all responsibility dumped in his regal lap.
He’s not handling it well.
Hoping to help her grandson to rise to the occasion, Queen Lenora agrees to give him "space"—but while the Queen’s away, the Prince will play. After a chance meeting with an American television producer, Henry finally makes a decision all on his own:
Welcome to Matched: Royal Edition.
A reality TV dating game show featuring twenty of the world's most beautiful blue bloods gathered in the same castle. Only one will win the diamond tiara, only one will capture the handsome prince’s heart.
While Henry revels in the sexy, raunchy antics of the contestants as they fight, literally, for his affection, it’s the quiet, bespectacled girl in the corner—with the voice of an angel and a body that would tempt a saint—who catches his eye.
The more Henry gets to know Sarah Mirabelle Zinnia Von Titebottum, the more enamored he becomes of her simple beauty, her strength, her kind spirit... and her naughty sense of humor.
But Rome wasn’t built in a day—and irresponsible royals aren’t reformed overnight.
As he endeavors to right his wrongs, old words take on whole new meanings for the dashing Prince. Words like, Duty, Honor and most of all—Love.
“You’ve become…important to me, Sarah. I mess up a lot; I always have. I don’t want to mess this up.”
What a strange pair we are. The sad boy and the frightened girl
I look into his eyes, moving closer, putting my hands on his shoulders. “I won’t let you mess this up.”
I was so excited to get Emma’s latest book in my hands. Especially since I was on a “royal” binge the past few weeks. Emma’s book are always good for a lighter and easier reading time.
As much as I loved the first book, this one is iffy for me. I had a few issues with it.
~ I’m not 100% sold on them being together. I think some of their dialogue was off (not natural feeling) and they were too insta love for me.
~ I think Sarah just rubbed me the wrong way. She was to immature and her book thing was annoying.
~ I felt like a lot of this was to cliche and the ending really really bothered me.
~ I think Henry was different then how he was portrayed in the last book. I really thought he would of brought more angst to this book. He seemed more troubled and it was kinda like he just got over all of it with sex. I think there should of been more inner dialogue from him showing he was growing and coming into his own.
Despite this I still enjoyed the book and I will be reading the 3rd book in this series. Emma’s a wonderful writer and I always look forward to her next release.
