The most beautiful man I've ever seen is the same one who can ruin everything.

The first time I lay eyes on Callan Walker, I know he’ll be trouble. With his smug grin, hot Aussie accent and thousand dollar shoes, he’s just the kind of rich guy who always gets what he wants.

And he wants two things: a night of sin, and my cooperation as he outmaneuvers his powerful mother to take control of his uncle’s estate.

I can’t afford either one. I’m the only thing standing between my little sister and the foster care system. He may have money and charm on his side, but I have something even more powerful -- pure desperation. This temp job at his mother’s company can become a full time job for me. It has to.

But when Callan’s eyes rake over my body, sometimes I forget my obligations. His piercing gaze finds the fun, optimistic girl I used to be and not the tired person I’ve become.

And it works--if only for a moment. Our night together was a mistake. I can't afford to get sucked into his high-powered family’s treachery. But the closer I get to Callan, the more layers I find beneath those expensive clothes. Though I can’t forget this is temporary. He’s temporary. I have too much to lose.

Too bad my foolish heart didn’t get the memo...

Exclusive Interview!

I was given the opportunity to as Sarina Bowen and Sarah Mayberry about what their co-writing process was and here’s what they had to say:

Sarah: We’d read each other’s books, and then we became email buddies. Over a couple of years, we chatted about this and that. Then Sarina contacted me out of the blue to ask if I’d be interested in collaborating with her. I said yes instantly (naturally!!).

Sarina: So then we needed a plot. I came up with a female character, and knew I wanted an Aussie hero. And then Sarah helped give the plot some conflict and direction. We did a lot of planning before we began writing.

Sarah: I know the time zone differences were hard for Sarina, but I’m used to this problem! Collaborating was a new twist–our book magically wrote itself while I was sleeping. That was pretty awesome.

Sarina: As we were planning, I realized that Sarah was more inclined to plot out actual scenes ahead of time. And she’s so good at it! I had a bad case of Collaborator Guilt as I checked her careful scene descriptions every time I sat down to write. That brings me to the real challenge of collaboration–stopping. Now I need to finish my own book and there’s nobody to tell me what to write next. It’s terrifying!

Sarah: So true.

Review:

I had a lot of fun with this book. First of all, don’t we all swoon over hot Australians? I certainly do so I was happy to live out several hours fantasizing about a gorgeous Australian with a hot accent and a great heart.

I enjoyed the collaboration between the two authors. I have read a lot of Sarina Bowen’s work but Sarah Mayberry is new to me. I’m excited to go back and read some other work from her because I really enjoyed the merging styles between the two.

Grace has to be one of my favorite female leads in a while. She’s doing everything that she can to raise her younger sister. It’s made clear that they really don’t have money to do any type of extra stuff. From the beginning I could tell how strong she was and at times, some might thing she comes off as meek because she’s trying to protect her job but if you really pay attention, there isn’t a single thing about her that could ever be considered meek. She’s strong, loyal and has a heart of gold. She stands up for herself and family and she never takes the easy way out if it could jeopardize anything dealing with her or her family.

Callan comes off as the playboy with Mommy issues that can never be tied down. And while that might be true to some extent, it certainly isn’t who he really is. When he goes to NYC to help settle his Uncle’s estate, we discover that he’s really the only one that truly cared for his Uncle. I think the dealings between his Uncle’s life and what he wanted to leave as a legacy was absolutely beautiful and I’m so happy that the authors included such a heartwarming contribution to story.

Overall, I enjoyed this and I think you will too. Temporary is full of class, sass and a bit of angst to keep you moving. Check it out today!
