When you’ve got nothing, you’ve got nothing to lose. But what happens when you have everything you ever wanted? You fight to keep it.
Cormac “the Hurricane” O’Connell’s star is on the rise. Billed as the most promising young boxer of his generation, his new career is taking him to places he never dreamed. But O’Connell only needs one thing in life: his wife. In her final year of college, Em cannot follow him around the world but together they make it work.
Just when everything they ever wanted is on the horizon, the past resurfaces to haunt them and O’Connell realizes that justice might not be a part of his happy ever after.
He couldn’t protect Em once before, but in the aftermath of the hurricane, he will make sure that never happens again.
This one picking up where The Hurricane left off with Emily and Cormac. The Aftermath is told from his POV and I liked that a lot more. I loved getting inside his head. Then again, I’m always a sucker for male POVs. The conninuation from book one was a smooth transition.
“Seriously, ladies! How can you possibly think this could replace the real thing?”
“Do you think you could get yours to vibrate and change color?”
“For you Nik, I could make it stand at attention and dance to the national anthem.”
I loved the humor RJ Prescott put into this book. The cast of characters she had all brought something to the table here. Kieran, Tommy, Liam, and Danny. I enjoyed them all.
This book was intense, funny, sexy and most of all enjoyable. Even though some parts of this book were predictable I still finished it and liked it. I look forward to seeing what she comes up with next.
If you haven’t grabbed The Hurricane then I recommend you getting that. It needs to be read before you read The Aftermath.
